Kochi: PM Modi to Inaugurate Asia's First Water Metro, tight security amidst bomb threat

Kochi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the first Water Metro in the country on April 25th in Kochi, Kerala. The Water Metro is unique as it does not run on tracks, but on water, and will have 23 boats and 14 terminals initially, with plans to expand to 78 boats and 38 terminals once the project is completed. The cost of a single metro boat is Rs 7 crore, and about 747 crores have been spent in making the project a reality. The Water Metro is expected to carry up to 100 passengers at a time, and is set to revolutionize public transportation in the region.

However, amidst the excitement, a bomb threat to Prime Minister Modi has surfaced, with Kerala BJP President K Surendran receiving a letter threatening a bomb attack on the Prime Minister. The security agencies are currently investigating the matter, and security arrangements have been tightened for the Prime Minister's visit.
