MP: Modular kitchens to be set up in all district hospitals by year-end for hygienic patient food

MP: In a significant development for healthcare in Madhya Pradesh, all district hospitals will soon have modular kitchens by the end of this year, followed by civil hospitals and community health centers. This move aims to provide hygienic food to patients and improve hospital ratings in evaluations. Preparations are underway, with tenders set to be issued soon. The modular kitchens will also feature food trolleys designed to maintain food temperature and measures to prevent pests in the kitchens. This marks a crucial step in improving healthcare infrastructure in the state.

Another major benefit of having such a kitchen will be that hospitals will get higher marks in the evaluation of Rejuvenation and National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS). At present, there is no modular kitchen in any medical college in the state. Health department officials said that along with the modular kitchen, the food trolley will also be such that the food does not cool down quickly. Arrangements will also be made to keep the prepared food prepared for the patients well in the kitchen.
