New Delhi: Samajwadi party Chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday gave a kind of consent to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s statement that Congress should support regional parties who are strong in their state.
Earlier, In a press conference held at the state secretariat Nabanna, Mamta said, “Wherever the Congress is strong, its party is ready to support.” She said that wherever a regional political party is strong, the BJP cannot fight there. The parties which are strong in a particular area should fight together. I am supporting Congress in Karnataka, but it should not fight against TMC in Bengal. Congress will have to help TMC in Bengal, she added.
Responding to questions regarding Mamata’s remark, Akhilesh Yadav said, “Nitish Kumar, Mamata Banerjee, KCR and various political parties are trying to find a way out. Wherever any party is strong, election in all those places will be fought under their leadership”.

Mamata’s and Akhilesh’s statement came after Congress registered a landslide victory in Karnataka.
Mamata Banerjee said that I am neither a magician nor an astrologer. What will happen in the future? Cannot say this But I can tell one thing wherever regional parties are strong, BJP cannot fight there. The vote cast in Karnataka is a mandate against the BJP government.
She said that the Congress is strong on 200 seats, so if the Congress wants to get a good result, it will have to make sacrifices in some areas. Akhilesh Yadav should be given priority in UP. Congress must talk to Akhilesh Yadav.
Congress is set to form government in Karnataka as it won 135 seats out of 240 seats.
