Journey From Engineer to Female Uber Driver: Dipta Ghosh
During their conversation, Singh discovered that Ghosh was an electrical engineering graduate who had worked for many companies until her father's sudden demise in 2020. Afterward, every job she was offered required her to move out of Kolkata, which was not possible for Ghosh. So, to take care of her mother and younger sister, she put on a brave face and applied for a commercial driving license. In 2021, Ghosh bought an Alto car and started working as a driver for Uber.
Satisfied with Her Job, says Dipta Ghosh
Despite having an engineering background, Ghosh enjoys being an Uber driver and being her own boss. She earns approximately ₹40,000 a month working six to seven hours a day, six days a week. According to Singh, Ghosh is satisfied with her current job and has no plans to return to the corporate workforce.
