Rahul Gandhi in US: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on BJP-led government and said that some groups in India have the “disease” of being under the impression that they know everything.
Rahul Gandhi, who is on 10-day US tour, was addressing Indian diaspora at an event titled ‘Mohabbat ki Dukaan’ in San Francisco on Wednesday.
He said, “Some months ago, we started a walk from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. While walking we realised that normal instruments for doing politics (connecting with people) were not working anymore. They were controlled by the BJP and RSS. People are threatened and agencies are used against them. In some way, it had become quite difficult to act politically. That is why we decided to walk from the southernmost tip of India to Srinagar.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said in an address in the United States that India is being run by a group of people who are “absolutely convinced” that they know everything. They can also sit with God and explain things.
Rahul Gandhi said that the Prime Minister is one of those people. If you make PM Modi sit next to God, he will start explaining to God how the universe works. They can explain science to scientists, history to historians, war to the military. Really don’t understand anything. Because you cannot understand anything in life if you are not willing to listen.
Further adding to his remark, the Congress leader said, “And of course, Prime Minister is one of them. If you make him sit with God, he would start explaining to him (God) how the universe works…and God would get confused about what I had created.”
“They (BJP) can speak to scientists and explain science to them. They can explain history to historians, warfare to the army and flying to the air force. But at the heart of it, they don’t know anything,” he lamented.
Rahul Gandhi said that PM Modi and his government do not talk about issues like unemployment, price rise, spread of anger and hatred and crumbling education system. Referring to the Sengol controversy, Rahul Gandhi said that the BJP cannot really discuss these issues, so they have to bring Sengol. You know how to lie down and do all that. Aren’t you glad I’m not lying?
He further said that Sengol had been installed in the new parliament. The BJP had claimed that Sengol was a symbol of the transfer of power from the British to India in 1947 and was kept in a museum in Allahabad. The Congress said that there is no evidence of this.
