Oppn Mega Meeting: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge reached Patna on Friday with party leader Rahul Gandhi. Both the leaders will attend the opposition unity meeting here. Before joining the opposition meeting, Rahul Gandhi said that Congress will win Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan. The aim of BJP is to benefit some people. Congress works for the poor and the needy.
He said that unity is the only way to defeat the BJP. He said that BJP is dividing the country and spreading hatred and violence, while Congress is uniting the country. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also addressed party workers in Patna ahead of the opposition meeting.
Kharge said, “If we win Bihar, we can win across the country. I request everyone to leave aside their differences and unite to save democracy. All Congress leaders should unite and contest the 2024 elections keeping differences at bay.

At the same time, talking to reporters in Delhi before the meeting, Kharge said that the agenda of the opposition parties is to remove the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Center and they will all fight together. Kharge said that we all want to fight together against the BJP and our agenda is to remove the BJP government. Speaking on the issue of the Centre’s ordinance moved by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Congress president said they would take a decision on it before the Parliament session. “We will take a decision on it (AAP’s support against the Centre’s ordinance) before the Parliament session,” he said.

Ahead of the opposition party meeting in Patna, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has urged opposition parties, including the Congress, to clarify their stand on the Centre’s ordinance on control of administrative services in the national capital.
The leaders of opposition parties across the country are going to meet in Patna to chalk out a strategy to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The opposition chose Patna for its meeting because the city represents Jayaprakash Narayan’s call for a total revolution in 1974 that toppled Indira Gandhi’s majority government.

The meeting, hosted by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is aimed at building a consensus on forming a united opposition front to take on the BJP. The Janata Dal (United), which is hosting the meeting, said Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has not been invited to the event. The meeting has been called by Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar and will be attended by leaders of opposition parties to the BJP.
Leaders who reached Patna ahead of the meeting include West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti.
