PM Kisan Yojana 14th installment released for 80 million farmers

New Delhi: In a much-awaited move, the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, commonly known as PM Kisan, is set to disburse the 14th installment to more than 80 million farmers across the nation, bringing an end to nearly six months of anticipation. The funds for the 14th installment will soon be credited to the accounts of eligible beneficiaries in a matter of hours.

PM Modi to initiate fund transfer from Nagaur’s rally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Rajasthan, is scheduled to address a public rally in the Nagaur district. It is during this visit that he will initiate the transfer of the 14th installment of PM Kisan to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

Funds to be transferred into farmers’ bank accounts 

The funds will be directly transferred through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the bank accounts of farmers linked to their Aadhaar and NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India). It is essential to note that farmers whose bank accounts are not linked to Aadhaar and NPCI will not receive the funds. As of now, a total of 13 installments have already been transferred to the accounts of beneficiaries under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The 13th installment was credited on February 27, 2023.

The PM Kisan Yojana, launched in December 2018, is one of the most ambitious schemes undertaken by the central government. Its primary objective is to provide financial assistance to economically vulnerable farming families with limited land holdings and low incomes. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive an annual financial aid of ₹6,000 ($80).

First installments to be credited between April 1 to July 31

The amount is disbursed in three installments – the first installment is credited between April 1 and July 31, the second between August 1 and November 30, and the third between December 1 and March 31. With the current kharif season underway and rice plantation in progress, the timely arrival of ₹2,000 ($27) in farmers’ accounts will undoubtedly bring significant relief to millions of farming households across the country.

The PM Kisan Yojana has emerged as a ray of hope for crores of farmers, providing much-needed financial assistance during agricultural seasons. As the 14th installment reaches their bank accounts, it is expected to bolster their efforts in sustaining and expanding their farming activities, ultimately contributing to the growth of India’s agriculture sector.
